Formula Behind the Wilks Score

The Wilks formula uses coefficients for males and females that adjust your total lifted weight. The general formula is:

Wilks Score = (Total Lift × 500) / (a + bW + cW² + dW³ + eW⁴ + fW⁵)

Where:

  • W = body weight in kilograms
  • a–f = sex-specific coefficients
Note: As of 2020, the IPF has transitioned to the IPF Points system. However, Wilks is still widely used in many powerlifting competitions and gyms globally.
